Women Online – How NOT to Get Their Attention
Chatting to women online can be a bit of a minefield sometimes. With so much contrasting advice on how to go about online dating, it can be hard to know where to begin.
While you need to be authentic, there are certain things you need to avoid, particularly when initiating a conversation with a potential match.
Your first conversation is your one and only chance to make a good first impression, so it’s important not to screw it up.
Here are four phrases that are sure to be ignored by women online.
Too simple: “Hey, how are you?”
You might think you can’t go wrong with something as simple as this. But think about it for a minute. Most women receive tonnes of messages every day, so she probably doesn’t have the energy to start conversations from the beginning every time.
Also, it doesn’t show a great deal of effort on your part, either!
Too generic: “Hi, your profile looks amazing! And your pictures are great. I’d love to know more.”
If your match suspects that you’re just copying and pasting messages to various women, she will ignore it. At the very least, personalise your messages by including their name, as well as something that caught your attention from their profile. You’re much more likely to get a reply if she thinks you’ve made an effort to learn about her.
Too forward: “You look stunning in your pictures; can you send some more?”
Asking for more pictures is a big no-no. Be content with the pictures she feels comfortable sharing, and get to know her for who she is. If things work out well, she might be willing to arrange a video call with you before agreeing to a date.
Asking for more photos is way too forward and is a little creepy. Doing so certainly won’t boost your chances of success.
Too pushy: “Hey, still waiting to hear from you – are you online?”
How do you deal with the woman who doesn’t message back? You move on; it’s as simple as that.
There could be dozens of reasons why she didn’t message back. Maybe she doesn’t use the site anymore, or perhaps she just doesn’t think you’d be a very good match.
Whatever you do, don’t take it personally, and don’t follow up. You’re wasting your energy if she hasn’t already messaged back.
Chatting to matches while online dating is by no means easy. But you need to try hard to get their attention with a catchy, friendly message that shows you’re interested in getting to know them.
The four examples shared above should be avoided at all costs, as they certainly won’t help you when you’re hoping to meet the girl of your dreams online.
